Supporting Bradford District Museums and Galleries

(Photo shown: Bradford Industrial Museum)

The Friends of Bradford Art Galleries and Museums (FoBAGaM) was first registered as a Charity in February 2005, but as a Friends organisation we have been supporting the museum service of Bradford Council long before that date. Our name reflects the offical title of the service in 2005, but which is now known as Bradford District Museums and Galleries, and which our membership continue to support in line with our stated charitable objectives.

FoBAGaM encourages, promotes and advances the education of the public (within the area of the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council) in the appreciation of history, culture, art, science, technology and architecture, with particular reference to the activities of public museums and galleries.

BRADFORD CAN TAKE PRIDE

To celebrate 2025 as the beginning of Bradford’s tenure as City Of Culture, our Editor, Derek Barker, has set himself the impressive target of posting a daily reminder of why the people of Bradford District can be rightly proud of their heritage and its contribution to the national and international community. Derek’s posts will appear daily on his personal Facebook site, and the ‘Bradford Memories’ group Facebook site created by Vicky Clifton, Learning & Outreach Manager, Bradford District Museums and Galleries. In support of this effort, we will also start to combine the daily posts into a regular Blog which you will be able to follow at the bottom of this page.
